German event technology company Horn Veranstaltungstechnik has added a second Lawo mc²36 audio console to its rental inventory, following the successful use of its first console at the Schlossfestspiele Ettlingen 2016.

The new 24-fader mc²36 console is partnered with a Lawo Compact I/O unit and Waves SoundGrid® integration, which can be used to store plug-in parameters in snapshot and production files.

Company owner and MD, David Horn, invested in his second console to serve this summer’s Burgfestspiele Bad Vilbel theater festival. With eight productions and more than 170 performances taking place during the season – ranging from musicals, drama and children’s plays to classical, rock, pop and jazz concerts – the festival will allow the mc²36 not only demonstrate its sound qualities, but also its extensive configuration possibilities – a time-saver in live applications.

“The decision to buy the second console was fully justified,” says Horn. “As a result of our work in Ettlingen, as well as with various classic productions and a large TV show, we were asked whether we could serve the Burgfestspiele Bad Vilbel with a Lawo console – which we then gladly have. And the sound engineers on-site are very satisfied.”

“The possibilities offered by the mc236 console in live and musical productions convinced us completely, so it was a logical step to have a second console in order to offer our customers even more perfect audio quality,” Horn comments. “In daily use, the mc²36 shows its full potential and meets the many requirements and challenges that we face – even in large productions. We wanted to raise sound quality to a new level, and we fully accomplished with the mc²36.”

Horn Veranstaltungstechnik’s first mc²36, meanwhile, will again be used as a live console at the Schlossfestspiele Ettlingen for a series of three productions this year. With the two renowned venues, Bad Vilbel and Ettlingen, the mc²36 has added two further major live/theater/musical productions to its credit, as well as in the rental market.

The compact Lawo mc²36 combines comprehensive functionality for theater, live, broadcast and installation applications. Being equipped with RAVENNA/AES67 technology, it can be seamlessly integrated into IP infrastructures. And, in addition to uncompromised audio quality, integrated Lawo quality microphone preamplifiers and intuitive operation, the console claims an unbeatable price-performance ratio.
