WIGE HD1 with mc²66.

Faster, higher, further.

WIGE Media AG equipped the audio control room of the new HDTV OB van HD1 with a mc²66. The company is known in the business particularly for TV productions and live broadcasts – Formula 1, football, winter sports. The new OB van is fitted with 24 HDTV cameras, 7 EVS hard disk machines and 10 VTRs.

The mc²66 for the HD1 has 56 faders; its HD core offers over 300 DSP channels as well as a matrix with a capacity of over 2000 physical inputs and 2000 outputs. The mixer’s split console surface allows two completely independent productions at a time. Six mobile stage boxes are connected via monomode optical fibre for loss-free bridging of wide distances of up to 8 km. The elegant decentralised connection via DALLIS I/Os allow a space-saving and cabling-efficient construction of the HD1.

For the HD1, Lawo implemented for the first time a complete remote control of the camera mic preamps in a TV OB van. All camera parameters can be directly controlled and saved in a snapshot. Thus the mc²66 guarantees the full recall of all settings that are relevant for the audio mix.
