BBC Radio with "Dual Self-Healing Star" routing system.

BBC en route with Lawo Nova73 HD DSHS.

Broadcasting House, a classified historical monument, is the British Broadcasting Corporation’s (BBC) headquarter in London (West One) and was completely redeveloped during the last years.

Besides new studios and control rooms, BBC required a new audio router. The project team decided for a Lawo routing system in a “Dual Self-Healing Star” (DSHS) topology based on two Nova73 HD systems which now is the heart of the complete radio network.

The router supports a matrix of 8,000 mono equivalent inputs by 8,000 outputs, including both analogue and digital audio interfaces. This installation is probably the largest single routing system of the world.

The DSHS structure guarantees highest reliability and resiliance. Due to the redundancy of all system components, maintenance can be done even when the system is on air.
